Give Your Cabinets A Fresh New Look

Imperial Custom Cabinets, Inc. offers refinishing services to provide a fresh face to your older or worn out cabinets.

Cabinet Refinishing Options:

  • Paint to Paint – Change the paint color or repaint the same color
  • Stain to Paint
  • Stain to Stain – Color selection will vary based on the original stain color.

Getting Started

The first step to adding new life to your cabinets is to determine what work will be performed.

We’ll take a look at your cabinets and determine if any repairs are needed, if any doors or drawers have to be replaced, or if any parts are beyond repair.

Next we’ll determine what product was last used on the cabinets (lacquer, polyurethane, water-based, etc.). Depending on the product originally/last used, the procedure of work may vary.

Once this assessment is complete, a sample will be provided to show you what the finished product will look like.

The Process

Once work begins, we take all doors, drawers or drawer fronts and appliance panels* back to our shop and do the work there. Cabinet boxes and anything that cannot be taken back to our shop will be refinished at your house.

  • Removal of cabinet doors, drawers, and appliance panels taken off
  • Masking of the floors, countertops, walls, and anything else near the cabinet boxes
  • Cleaning of all doors, drawers and cabinet boxes with a degreasing solution and the stripping of the old finish if necessary

If painting, everything will be thoroughly sanded before any priming is done. Two coats of primer will be applied, it will be sanded, and then two coats of paint will be applied.

If staining, the stain will be applied followed by two coats of sanding sealer and two coats of top coat (finish and clear coat).

Once all work is completed, we will reinstall all doors and drawers and an appliance technician will reinstall the appliance panels*. We will also take down all masking materials and clean everything. All dust will be contained by the masking.

We take great pride in our work and understand that we are guests in your home.
We will treat it with the utmost respect and care.

*All appliance panels will have to be removed and reinstalled by an appliance technician.
