Bamboo

Bamboo is rapidly becoming the poster child for green building. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. It grows to full height within 6 months and will achieve harvest maturity in 5-8 years. Bamboo consumes more CO² than trees. Harvesting Bamboo does not require replanting as regeneration occurs from the existing root structure which helps prevent soil erosion. Mature Bamboo has similar density characteristics to that of domestic hardwoods. Vertical grain material is available in natural/blonde color, while horizontal grain is available in carbonized/caramelized color.
